Advanced Techniques for Removing Skin Cancers
A skin cancer is an uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells. In many cases, malignant lesions develop from an over-exposure to sunlight or too much ultraviolent light from tanning beds. Mohs surgery is the state-of-the-art excision that allows our surgeons to remove skin cancers one layer at a time. To ensure the malignant tissue is thoroughly extracted with the least amount of non-cancerous tissue possible, each layer is carefully examined under a microscope. This methodical approach allows for the evaluation of 100% of the surgical margin to detect any cancerous tissue that remains. Our dermatologic surgeons also use the most advanced reconstructive techniques to diminish scars and repair any damaged skin tissues.
