Our group was founded by Dr. Alex Doctoroff, affiliate of the world-renowned Columbia University and New York Presbyterian Hospital. Every member of our team lives on the cutting edge of dermatology. We conduct monthly Grand Rounds for all of our providers, where difficult and unusual cases are discussed and strategized. Our patients with rare conditions are treated using the unsurpassed combined brainpower and experience of our well-rounded doctors, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. The group also provides innovative weekly didactic educational sessions for our nurse practitioners and physician assistants, where various topics in dermatology and dermatopathology are explored in depth. From your initial consultation to the moment you leave our doors, we ensure that you receive the most comprehensive dermatological care possible. We provide a wide variety of services in all areas of cosmetic, medical and surgical dermatology and cover Union County, Bergen County, Hudson County, Middlesex County, Cumberland County, Burlington County, Somerset County, Sussex County, and the surrounding areas.

Our practice's expertise ranges from Mohs micrographic surgery and superficial radiation therapy for the treatment of skin cancer, to allergy testing, to photodynamic therapy for sun damage, pre-cancerous skin lesions, and acne. Dermoscopy (epiluminescent microscopy) is our preferred method of skin cancer detection. This method allows for more accurate detection of melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma, and a decrease in the number of unnecessary biopsies. We specialize in facial rejuvenation and cosmetic procedures.

Our dermatologists and staff are excited to bring the newest and most advanced developments in the treatment of skin, hair, and nail diseases to the patients of Metropolitan Dermatology's 23 locations. Additionally, our offices have used electronic patient medical records since 2004 and offer a secure patient portal as well as the latest health & wellness platform for communications using mobile devices.
