Aton M. Holzer, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs Surgeon specializing in Mohs surgery and procedural dermatology, with training and experience in all aspects of general dermatology as well.

Dr. Holzer graduated summa cum laude with his BA and then completed his MA is Modern Jewish History at Yeshiva University.  He then earned his MD with Honors in Research from Weill Medical College of Cornell University, where he received the prestigious “Good Physician” award.  Dr. Holzer went on to complete his internal medicine internship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital (Columbia  Campus), and his Research Track residency in dermatology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He completed his fellowship in Mohs Surgery and Procedural Dermatology at the Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas under the tutelage of Leonard H. Goldberg, MD.

In the past, Dr. Holzer worked as a dermatologist and Mohs surgeon in both South Miami and Pembroke Pines, Florida and as a part-time tele dermatology consultant for Refuah Health Center in Rockland County, NY.  He is more recently credited for his work within the Department of Dermatology at the Tel Aviv Medical Center in Israel.  The American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS) has recognized the medical center for the first time as a center for the training of fellows in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology (MSDO), led by Dr. Aton Holzer, Program Director.  The Tel Aviv Medical Center is the only site in Israel where one can train as an ACMS-certified Mohs Surgeon and only the 8th center outside of the United States that bears this distinction.

Dr. Holzer has authored a published chapter in dermatology textbooks and has authored and co-authored numerous articles published in a variety of medical and dermatologic journals.  His work has been presented at national dermatology conferences.  When he’s not working or traveling, Dr. Holzer enjoys spending time with his wife and 6 children in Bet Shemesh, Israel, where he lives.
